Oxford University Finance Official Accomplice to Brutal 'Sex Fantasy' Murder

Reports from US news publishers describe the shocking case of former Northwestern University professor Wyndham Lathem and Oxford University official Andrew Warren; both of which are being tried for the brutal 'sex fantasy' turned real-life murder of Lathem's student boyfriend Trenton James Cornell-Duranleau.

While extreme cases of violence and murder sadly aren't so out of the ordinary, there are certain factors about this disturbing case that truly stand out. Many argue that sex fantasies involving any form of 'extreme' act or violence is damaging to the human psyche, while others would argue that it's nothing more than a harmless fantasy. Unfortunately, these two working professionals actually carried out an unbelievably cruel fantasy that lead to the demise of an unsuspecting, university student.

The mainstream media has been using the kink and BDSM communities as scapegoats for years; by morally demonising, criticising and making a mockery of different lifestyles and sexual interests. The majority of kinksters enjoy sexual fantasies that are more or less harmless to others. Even those who participate in sadism or masochism have strict boundaries, guidelines, safe words and no intention to do anything without the consent of all those involved. Consent in sacred in this arena.

However, what these two individuals did was nothing short of barbaric and heinous. This was evidently not a sex fantasy that lead to a murder, as the mainstream media narrative is dictating to the general public. What we have here are two individuals who enjoyed the concept of killing a vulnerable individual i.e. someone who was totally unsuspecting of their actions so much that they decided that they should carry it out, as if they had the right to take the life of another. The 'fantasy' aspect ends as soon as someone decides and makes plans to actually carry out the act. The total disregard for the life of another human being cannot be linked to any form of sexual fantasy as this was made reality, not even in the sense of roleplaying but by actually killing someone.

Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Natosha Toller outlined the allegations against former Northwestern University professor Wyndham Lathem and Andrew Warren, a British national, in the stabbing death of Trenton Cornell-Duranleau.

Not only that, they had planned to commit a double suicide as part of their sick fantasy but of course, that part was never carried out. However, Lathem who appears to have been the main instigator of this attack, wanted to immortalise the scene and Trenton's terror and suffering by filming it on a mobile device. According to the press statement, Warren didn't actually film it.

What's particularly twisted about this case is that both defendants were working at respected educational institutes. Admittedly, Lathem had already been stricken off for reasons unknown (it is possible that it could be linked to his relationship with Cornell-Duranleau?) but Warren was indeed still a Financial Official in Oxford. Again, this only further highlights the undisputed truth that you cannot judge a person's character by mere appearances. Maybe, the next time journalists or the general public feel the need to judge sex workers or BDSM enthusiasts for their lifestyle choices, they will want to refer back to this particular case.
