Fashion designers and photographers often embrace bold motifs for signature collections and editorials, however, some motifs and designs are far more risqué than others! We took a closer look at some of the NSFW fashion designs from 2017.

There's been a growing trend in recent years to feature genitalia in the design of clothing, shoes, bags and accessories. While we think it's great that fashion embraces the human form and sexuality, there's a tongue-in-cheek aspect to the designs that often make them fun and somewhat hilarious.

1. Vivienne Westwood 'Limited Edition Penis Key Ring.'

"Adorned in faux croc textured leather and with only 100 made available, the Limited Edition Penis Key Ring comes in a cool taupe hue, detailed with silver toned studs to the front, finished with a silver clasp clip."

What I love about this is the high-end novelty aspect of the product. It's a cheeky design that takes reference from all the cartoon-esque dong drawings the boys at school used to create during class and spray paint on walls in the city centre. It's not often you see such quality go into a penis-shaped item that isn't for sexual use. The silver studs are also a nice, decorative touch! Want to get your hands on one? You better hurry, it's only available for a limited time from the Vivienne Westwood site.

Don't use keyrings? Not to worry, there are other phallic items you can enjoy from Viv, such as this crystal encrusted penis necklace!

In all honesty, we're not entirely sure who the target demographic is for these items (I'm assuming males as the models that wore them were), but nevertheless, there's bound to be someone you know that would want one!

2. Namilia 'My Pussy, My Choice' Collection at NYFW '17

Berlin based fashion designers Namilia had a show-stopping collection debut at NYFW this past September... which happened to feature vulvae. Big and small alike, the motif was on several clothing items and even on some of the footwear. Yoni magic galore!

It is said that the collection was inspired by a 1748 novel called “The Indiscreet Jewels,” written by Denis Diderot. It’s “an allegory that portrays Louis XV as the sultan Mangogul who owns a magic ring that makes women’s genitals (‘jewels’) talk.”

There were also huge, balloon bras made to look like giant breasts. Not only that, but the cut of the garments bared quite a lot of flesh for many of the runway models. Which most people in attendance of fashion catwalks are somewhat accustomed to.

It's a bold concept with a bold collection title, no doubt there will be some proud feminists that will take an interest in some of these items. If you have the funds and a yearning to obtain a piece of this collection, the vulva shoes are actually on sale via the Namilia website.

3. Joe Alvarez's 'Black Tape Project'

If you're frequent user, it's highly likely that you've seen numerous Instagram accounts of similarly patterned, body paint on models and stick on accessories, gems and temporary tattoos on festival-goers. What you may have also started to see is the rise of the 'black tape project' i.e. electrical tape cut into pretty shapes and patterns and applied to models' bodies to create body art.

While the concept isn't new, this particular project demonstrates experiments with intricate details and a lot of different designs. Joe also uses metallic tape along side the traditional black for different effects. We have to say, it looks as sexy as does bad ass! This would be the perfect outfit inspiration if you're attending a high end adult party of some description. These looks are perfect for exhibitionists!

It's always fun to see new, experimental art and fashion.
