Could 'Sex Doll Tester' Become a New Job Title?

As the manufacturing of sex dolls ramps up to meet the criteria of a new niche market, one of the biggest companies are now seeking to hire 'testers'.

It may sound like a joke, but the UK's largest sex doll manufacturer Silicone Sex World are now hiring a professional product tester.

The official job role title 'Product Innovation and Quality Tester' means that whoever is hired by the company, will be required to attend industry events, liaise with the manufacturing team, oversee quality control of the products and of course, actually test them.

The amazing thing about the role is that the company are offering up to £35,000 a year as well as free gym memberships, paid worldwide trips to industry events and a company mobile!

For some, particularly sex doll fans, this job role would be a dream come true.

So what umm... 'experience' does the employee need for this exciting line of work?

  • Must be highly driven
  • Willing to travel
  • Product testing experience - desirable
  • Adult industry experience - desirable
  • A passion for sex dolls - a vested interest
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Can work to tight deadlines

You can read the full job description here.

If you were hoping to apply for said position, the job opening is now closed due to the massive  response with applications - which is hardly surprising. The shortlisting process begins tomorrow, so no doubt a lucky employee will be selected soon enough.

While this appears to be the first time an official job role has been created specifically for sex doll product testing, this may be just the beginning of many similar forms of employment being offered by sex tech businesses.

For example, last summer the news broke out that UK sex tech company Love Woo were seeking to hire a 'Sex Toy Reviewer', to test all of their products and report back their findings. They too were offering a decent salary: £28,000 a year plus the ability to work from home 2 / 5 days a week - which of course would be necessary, given the nature of the most important task!

This may very well be the start of a new form of employment, however the concept of a 'paid sex product tester' isn't a new one. After all, sex tech companies are already shipping free products such as dildos, vibrators and butt plugs to popular, freelance sex toy reviewers; some of which are highly paid for their write ups.

If you are passionate about the pleasure provided by sex tech, can provide a great review, strong feedback and good suggestions for improvement (where needed), you may want to keep your eyes open for upcoming roles, or alternatively, consider starting a blog as a freelance sex toy reviewer.
